Seems like Michelle Rodriguez is a little furious over how the female characters of a certain big budget franchise have been treated lately — and if they don’t fix it, they may lose her fast.
In an Instagram post, the actress — who has appeared in five of the eight films, including the first — turned a (possibly contractually obligated) promo for the digital release of The Fate Of The Furious into more of an ultimatum.

Letty never was one to mince words! See the post (below)!
F8 is out digitally today, I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one. Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise. It’s been a good ride & Im grateful for the opportunity the fans & studio have provided over the years… One Love ├░┼╕┬ñ╦£├░┼╕┬Å┬╝├ó┬¥┬ñ├»┬╕┬Å├░┼╕┬ñΓÇö├░┼╕Γäó┬Å├░┼╕┬ªΓÇ₧├ó┼ô┬¿├░┼╕┼Æ┬ì├░┼╕Γäó┼á├░┼╕┬ñΓÇ¥A post shared by Michelle Rodriguez (@mrodofficial) on Jun 27, 2017 at 8:43am PDT
So what is she referencing?
Well, the past few films haven’t been the best to the female characters…
SPOILERS AHEAD
– In Fast & Furious (part 4), she herself was the only hero killed, offscreen as a plot point for Vin Diesel‘s return. (She later reemerged in Part 6 with amnesia.)
– In Fast & Furious 6, ex-military badass Gisele (future Wonder Woman Gal Gadot) was the only hero killed in the big fight.
– In Furious 7, badass hacker Nathalie Emmanuel was introduced — only to be made superfluous since Tej (Ludacris) can apparently handle computers as well as she can.
– In Fate Of The Furious (part 8), badass agent Elena (Elsa Pataky) is the only hero killed — and it was just to mess with Dom. And MRod was basically given nothing to do but stand by her man when it turned out he had a baby with another woman!
We love how formidable new villain Charlize Theron is, but damn. Letty has a point, y’all!
Do YOU think the Fast & Furious franchise needs to treat its women better??
