Well this is just strange.
A Michigan county sheriff is taking matters into his own hands to combat the popularity of a certain Netflix dramedy.
Saginaw County, Michigan is switching its inmates from full-on orange jumpsuits back to the classic black-and-white stripes number.
Sheriff William Federspiel noticed that orange-on-orange outfits are becoming increasingly popular due to the Emmy–nominated prison comedy.
To combat this fad, William has switched all of his inmates into the just-as-ill-flattering grayscale color scheme.
The decision was made after a juror showed up to court wearing an ensemble crafted entirely in orange; confusing no one, yet subjecting an entire county’s prison system to new threads.
William has said that a few of his 500 convicts have complained about the change.
His advice?
Don’t do the crime if you can’t pull off horizontal stripes.
