It’s really over for Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth!
As we reported on Wednesday, the Hunger Games actor officially fired for divorce from his wife of eight months, citing “irreconcilable differences,” with People confirming he hired El Lay divorce attorney Laura Wasser to represent him.
It should be a smooth divorce thanks to a prenuptial agreement in place, so there shouldn’t be any drama over who gets what when it comes to money and property. Although, it’s unclear if their brood of animals were taken into account.

While it seems like the divorce will go smoothly, that doesn’t mean both parties are taking it well. A source shared with People of the pop star:
“She didn’t expect it and is a bit disappointed, but she is still doing well and has obviously moved on as well.”
The insider continued (below):
“What she and Liam had for a long time was very special. It’s just hard for her to think that she will never have this again with Liam. There are really so many things that she loves about him.”

It’s only been 11 days since a rep for the Mother’s Daughter songstress confirmed the separation in a statement (below):
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Days after the shocking news came out, Hemsworth made a statement on Instagram, writing:
“Hi all
Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.
This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false.
Peace and Love.”
As we previously reported earlier today, a confidant spilled to People the 26-year-old singer just wants to do her thang right now:
“Miley is doing okay. It’s a relief the [breakup] news is out publicly so she can live her life and focus on herself.”
