Thanks to the fact that now digital downloads count towards chart success, Mimi’s perennial favorite, All I Want for Christmas is #8 this week in America, according to Soundscan.
People must be really into the holiday season because Josh Groban‘s Noel is the #1 album in the country. Again. He sold 500,000+ records this past week, with no signs of slowing down.
Groban has already moved 2.1 million units in 2 months and is on his way to having the biggest-selling Christmas album of all time.
Sources tell us that after Josh’s astounding success, Michael Buble will likely release a Christmas album next year. He was coerced into releasing a holiday EP a few years ago by his label, but now he probably wants to cash in like Groban!
Who knew Santa could be so profitable????
