James Ingram has passed away at the age of 66 from brain cancer.
According to TMZ on Tuesday, the legendary R&B singer had been fighting his illness for an extended period of time.

The celebrated musician was nominated for 14 Grammys and won two: one for One Hundred Ways, and another for Yah Mo B There, his duet with Michael McDonald.
Ingram and close friend Quincy Jones also co-wrote Michael Jackson‘s 1983 smash hit P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing).
Last September, the songwriter was noticeably absent from Quincy’s tribute concert in Los Angeles.
