Morgan Wallen is FINALLY ready to talk about his controversial appearance — or rather disappearance — on Saturday Night Live.
In March, the Cowgirls singer appeared as the musical guest alongside host Mikey Madison. But at the end, during what’s called the “goodnights” when everyone hugs and talks on the stage as the credits roll… He did something unexpected. He made the puzzling decision to dart off stage to head for the exit rather than staying to mingle with the cast. See (below):

His team has claimed no ill will was meant by it, but the 31-year-old himself hasn’t directly addressed the controversy… Until now.
On Sunday, he appeared on Sundae Conversation where host Caleb Pressley brought up the viral moment. Joking about household chores Morgan no longer does — like mowing grass and taking out trash — Caleb tactfully asked:
“Could you fix a TV… If it was on SNL?”
HA! Way to sneak that in!

Morgan had no choice but to giggle in response before coyly answering the question:
“I could change it, for sure.”
But like many fans, Caleb REALLY wanted to know why the country star stormed off stage. He prodded:
“Seriously — SNL. Did they make you mad?”
Morgan’s answer was pretty unsatisfactory. He responded:
“No, no. I was just ready to go home. I’d been there all week.”
Really, dude?? He needed to get home THAT bad? That he couldn’t at least wait until the screen cut to black to leave? He just REALLY needed to get back to “God’s country”? Yeah, guy, we’re reading between the lines. You may as well not be a coward about it, frankly.
Speaking of which, Caleb went on to nod to that infamous photo Morgan posted of a jet with the “God’s country” caption. And all he had to say in response was, “Yeah” … In between laughter. You can watch the moment (below):
But Caleb wasn’t done! Shortly after that conversational cul-de-sac, the comic alluded to Morgan’s chair-throwing incident by asking him to “name a thing you can sit in that also flies through the air” — besides a jet. Ha! This guy is basically doing Between Two Ferns but for real!
Reactions, Perezcious readers? Is this what you were expecting to hear? Do you think Morgan is trying to be tactful to stay out of trouble? Like he got coached by PR people? Hmm…
