The damage control has begun! Following the backlash stemming from Morgan Wallen’s abrupt exit off the Saturday Night Live stage, sources close to the country star swear there’s no drama and that no disrespect was meant by it. An insider described the incident to Variety on Sunday as an “oops” moment which everyone actually laughed about… They claimed that’s the way he entered and exited the studio all week during rehearsals, so that’s where his mind was at.
Hmmm.
As for his cryptic Instagram post shortly after, the source claimed it was not intended as a diss at the SNL crew or a reflection of his experience on the show. Right.

Morgan Wallen did NOT want to stick around to mingle after Saturday Night Live wrapped!
The controversial country crooner was the musical guest during this week’s Mikey Madison-hosted installment of SNL… But it seemed like he had better places to be, because he totally snubbed the whole cast and abruptly ran off stage as the credits began to roll!

During the end of the show, Mikey thanked everyone who made the episode possible, including the 31-year-old before turning to him and giving him a hug. Now for context, it’s usually protocol for musical guests to remain on stage and mingle with the host and cast as the credits close out the show, but Morgan had his own agenda. He whispered something into Mikey’s ear before beelining off the stage, blowing by cameras! Watch (below):

Shortly after the episode wrapped, Morgan took to his Instagram Story to make SURE people knew he wasn’t sticking around for any afterparty… He posted a pic of a private plane and wrote:
“Get me to God’s country”

It’s not clear if something specifically happened between Morgan and the SNL cast, but it’s well known he has anything but a sparkling record. Back in 2021, he was caught on camera dropping the N-word. Then last year, he was charged with reckless endangerment after throwing a chair off a sixth-story balcony while drunk in Nashville, narrowly missing cops on the street below.
