If you’re new to the Mormon Mommy scene, yes, Jennifer Affleck is related to Ben Affleck. Not that it matters, however — because they’ve never seen or talked to each other!
The star of Hulu‘s hot new reality show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is married to the Good Will Hunting star’s first cousin once removed, Zac Affleck. His dad, David Affleck, is Ben and Casey Affleck’s first cousin. So, Jennifer is the actor’s cousin-in-law!
What makes this whole family tree crazier is that the 25-year-old TikTok star technically shares the same name as his estranged wife, Jennifer Lopez! LOLz! J.Lo legally changed her last name to Affleck when they married in 2022. So, he has two women named Jennifer Affleck in the fam — until they finalize the divorce. Wild, right?

And it’s not lost on Jennifer how “interesting” it is to be Jennifer Affleck — joking to People on Friday that she is the “original” though.
Well… sorry to break it to her, but Jennifer Garner also legally took the name, so she was Jennifer Affleck even before this one was! LOLz!
But it’s more special with J.Lo! Jennifer told the outlet:
“Especially because my name happens to be not only Jen, but Jennifer Lynn Affleck, which is the exact same as JLo. She went from Jennifer Lynn Lopez to Jennifer Lynn Affleck, which is so crazy. People are very curious and wondering how we’re related and it’s so funny.”
Wow! Two Jennifer Lynn Afflecks. That is a pretty crazy coincidence.
Yet despite being related to Ben through her marriage AND sharing the same name as his estranged wife, she has never met the movie star! Her hubby hasn’t even met him! Wow! Guess the family isn’t as close with all their relatives! However, Jennifer hopes to fix that soon! She said:
“He’s my husband’s cousin, but we’ve never met him. Zac’s dad has [met them], when [Ben] was very little. I’m hoping to meet him one day, too!”
Considering Ben likes to keep his life private, we doubt he feels the same about meeting a reality star! Especially since Jennifer talks about him on the show and in interviews! But who knows?!
