Legendary NHL Player & Four-Time Stanley Cup Winner Claude Lemieux Dead At 60

Claude Lemieux has sadly passed away.

According to TMZ, the legendary NHL player didn’t return home on Wednesday night, causing his family to become worried. His 21-year-old son decided to go to their family furniture business to check on him, only to find his father in a rear warehouse. The outlet reports he died by suicide. So heartbreaking. He was 60 years old.

Claude played a monumental 21 seasons in the NHL, with spots on the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, Colorado Avalanche, Phoenix Coyotes, Dallas Stars, and San Jose Sharks. He won the Stanley Cup four times in his career. He was also awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy in 1995, which is given to the top playoff performer.

Most recently, Claude lit the torch in game 3 of the Montreal Canadiens series against the Carolina Hurricanes. You can see that video (below):

He’s survived by his four children and wife, Deborah. Our heart goes out to his family and loved ones. May he rest in peace.
