Nick Cordero's Broadway Fam Rallies Around Him Amid Coronavirus Crisis By Performing His Hit Song!

Nick Cordero's Waitress co-stars wish him well in inspiring video as he battles coronavirus!

Nick Cordero‘s Broadway friends and castmates want him to know how much he’s loved — and how much they’re pulling for him as he continues to battle back against the coronavirus!

The 41-year-old actor, currently in a coma, is well-known for his work in Sara Bareilles‘ musical Waitress, and so on Sunday, Bareilles and the show’s original cast decided they’d honor Cordero by celebrating his work! They put forth a virtual group effort performing his song Live Your Life to show their love for the popular and talented thespian as he remains in the hospital. So great!

The video, which was posted on The Show Must Go On Show‘s YouTube channel on Sunday afternoon, featured Bareilles herself along with the show’s original cast members: Jessie Mueller, Eric Anderson, Kimiko Glenn, Keala Settle, Charity Angel Dawson, Christopher Fitzgerald, Drew Gehling, Claire Kean, McKenna Kean, and Dakin Matthews.

Awww! So special for everyone to come together via Zoom and make it happen in support of their beloved friend and cast mate!

And as ET  notes, the show’s more recent actors who followed up the original cast also lent their talents to the video. Further cast credits include: Jenna Ushkowitz, Fran Curry, Becky Fleming, Thomas Gates, Henry Gottfried, Molly Hager, Aisha Jackson, Molly Jobe, Max Kumangai, Adele Miskie, Jodie Moore, Jeremy Morse, Jenny Pendergraft, Ragan Pharris, Marisha Ploski, Tom Sharkey, Anita Shastri, Phil Stoehr, Stephanie Torns, Ryan Vasquez, and Ricky Jay Yates.

Truly a group effort… and an all-star ensemble!!!

As we’ve been reporting for the last few weeks, Cordero has been in the hospital fighting the coronavirus. First diagnosed with pneumonia late last month, he officially tested positive for coronavirus in early April. As a result of the serious battle with the scary virus, the actor had his right leg amputated several weeks ago; more recently, doctors also put a temporary pacemaker in to help maintain his vital organs.

Clearly, things are still extremely serious for Nick — but as recent updates have suggested, it appears he’s also turning the corner towards improvement some, too. There’s still a long way to go here, but we’re hopeful he can enjoy a full recovery one day, if only to see all the love and support the Broadway world has for him! Here’s to staying optimistic and hopeful, y’all!
