Broadway Star Nick Cordero's Wife Updates Fans On 'Waiting Game' With Medically-Induced Coma Amid Coronavirus Treatment

Sending so much love to Broadway star Nick Cordero‘s family, friends, and loved ones right now… and thinking good thoughts as he winds through his ongoing medically-induced coma.

The theater and TV star is battling the novel coronavirus this month, having already had his leg amputated in a bid to quell the virus’ effects on his body. And now, doctors are hoping he will soon start regaining consciousness after being in a medically-induced coma for nearly two full weeks.

Cordero’s wife, fitness personality Amanda Kloots, gave another update to the star’s fans and followers on social media on Thursday, relaying vital information about the status of the coma. Speaking directly to the camera in a series of Instagram Stories posts, Kloots divulged:

“The doctors said that there was nothing on the MRI that would show that he won’t wake up, which is amazing news. We are so happy about that because that was a big worry for all of us. However, he hasn’t woken up and it’s been 12 days out of sedation. The doctors do think he should have woken up by now.”

What a scary situation…

But being ever so positive about her family’s current situation, the strong woman continued on, noting the positive side of things and further hoping for good news in the near future:

“I’m hoping and praying every day that Nick wakes up. I’m putting that energy and positivity out there, because I do believe he will. He is on Nick time and when he wakes up, we’ll all be there to celebrate it … And as we are waiting for him to wake up, while he is still sleeping, they are slowly weaning off his body off assistance, which is just great news. Small little wins.”

Small little wins, indeed!

It’s not what we all want (yet), but it sounds like things are at least going in the right direction.

Cordero has been battling the virus for nearly a month now after being hospitalized in late March. He was first tested for pneumonia, which came back negative before he was eventually tested for coronavirus as his condition rapidly deteriorated from there. Doctors have been fighting for his life ever since, as the actor has now spent several weeks in the intensive care unit.

Nevertheless, we’re optimistic that these small little wins can snowball into something bigger and better from here. Hopefully the worst is behind Cordero and he’s able to wake up soon!
