So these two really are about to get hitched — or seriously thinking about it, at least!!!
On her Queen Radio show on Friday, Nicki Minaj revealed that her and her sex offender/ex-con boyfriend Kenneth Petty have gotten their marriage license… making it one MAJOR step closer to officially tying the knot and riding off into the sunset together!

We already knew from last night’s show that Nicki was ADAMANT about keeping her man around for the long haul, no matter what the haters had to say about it, but it turns out that she really meant what she said — to the extreme! A marriage license is a big commitment! That’s next level, y’all!!!
As you’ll recall, Petty JUST appeared with Minaj in her new music video for Megatron, which dropped on Friday as well — and even though the video (and Petty’s presence itself) was met with pretty much immediate and complete backlash by fans, Minaj brushed it away.
If/when these two do make things official and actually use that license to tie the knot, this would be Nicki’s first marriage. So, um, an early congratulations is in order??? Amazing!!!
It’s been a wild few months for Nicki as you know; not only did Minaj bizarrely cancel shows, she’s also been taking a TON of heat for being in a relationship with Petty in the first place, with accusations flying around that her time is up!
Petty, first went public with Nicki back in December 2018, and obviously they are still going strong to this day. She’s been severely criticized for the relationship, though, because Petty was previously convicted of attempted rape in the first degree back in the 1990s after an incident where he attempted to sexually assault a 16-year-old girl in New York City.

Petty was sentenced to 18 to 54 months in state prison at the time of his conviction in 1995; it’s unclear how much time he served, but the conviction itself was obviously serious and concerning. Petty was also charged with manslaughter back in 2006 after allegedly shooting another man during a separate incident.
Despite it all, Minaj has remained loyal — to a fault, considering the criticism she’s been taking — and the pair appears to still be very much into each other after the new release of Megatron. Not to mention all this marriage license talk…
