If the shoe fits… or does it??
On Monday, amid her now-squashed feud with Cardi B, Nicki Minaj went on Twitter and claimed she passed on a Steve Madden deal brought to her by producer Irv Gotti.

Earlier that day, the two rappers went on social media to argue about deals and collaborations they may or may not have turned down.
The Young Money MC wrote:

However, on Tuesday, the official Twitter account for the footwear company went on social media to savagely DENY they offered a deal to the Bed musician.
.@NICKIMINAJ you can't turn down an offer that was never made. #StopLying.

Before you pick a side in this extremely random feud, read the (below) tweet from reporter Nina Parker. According to the journalist, Nicki is in the right because Gotti reportedly approached her with a collab… NOT Steve Madden.
She said Irv Gotti reached out to her, for a Steve Madden collaboration. Not the company itself. That happens often, someone will broker a potential partnership before contacting the company to gauge interest. If you turn it down, they never bring it to the company.

To add context to the story, back in December, Cardi announced a partnership with the shoe brand for her “Curated by Cardi” collection. At the time, she told Teen Vogue that she shared a “mutual friend” with the designer:
“All of this came about because I keep bringing up to my manager, I want to work with brands that are affordable. And are chic but good quality… I don’t want to work with a brand that is like, ‘Yeah they make shoes,’ or ‘Yeah, they make clothes,’ but it’s like… cheap, not good to wear. I’ve always been a fan of Steven Madden. We have a mutual friend, and bam! We connected.”’
Needless to say, the Internet loved every second of the drama! See the best reactions (below):
