North West is once again proving that when it comes to style, she is not afraid to stand out.
The 12-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West just gave fans another glimpse into her evolving fashion and beauty choices. North hopped onto her Instagram Stories back on Thursday to share a series of photos highlighting a brand-new manicure that immediately caught attention. The nails were long, dramatic, and a striking transparent aqua blue color. A layer of glitter added some sparkle, but that wasn’t the detail people were buzzing about. Nope. The real showstopper was the hardware.

Each nail was decked out with silver studs, spikes, and even had tiny piercings going straight through them! Yes, actual piercings through the nails! The edgy look gave the manicure a punk-inspired twist that definitely pushes the boundaries of what you typically expect from a 12-year-old’s beauty routine.
And if that wasn’t bold enough, North added another personal touch: on two of her left-hand middle fingers, pink Japanese lettering appeared to spell out “North-chan.” Fans quickly connected the dots, since that nickname references her father Kanye’s 2024 track Bomb, which he recorded with Ty Dolla $ign. North even rapped a verse in Japanese on that song, making the nail design feel like a little tribute moment.
Oh, and in another video clip posted to her Stories late last week, North gave credit where credit is due, by shouting out nail artists Noehmi Saldana and Akemi Santiago for creating the jaw-dropping manicure.

Of course, the dramatic nails arrive not long after North sparked plenty of chatter online earlier this year.
Back in January, fans were already debating the parenting choices behind allowing some of her other eye-catching styles, including a nose-bridge accessory, blackened teeth, and a huge diamond pendant. As expected, the internet had opinions… and lots of ’em!
