Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis are putting their differences aside for the sake of their children!
The former couple was caught looking rather chummy at their son Otis’ soccer game despite their nasty custody battle. According to pictures obtained by TMZ, Jason and Olivia attended their 8-year-old’s match together in Los Angeles on Saturday – and they were all smiles and chatty, even giving each other a big hug before sitting together in the stands. Their interaction is pretty inneresting, considering it harkens back to when we saw them hugging it out and acting friendly with each other earlier this year. We seemed to believe the two were back on good terms after all of their custody dispute and Don’t Worry Darling drama in 2022 – and some people even believed they were potentially getting back together following the 39-year-old director’s breakup with Harry Styles. However, that was not the case. Things definitely were not water under the bridge between them!
In fact, their contentious custody battle continued as Olivia accused the Ted Lasso actor of trying to “litigate her into debt” by fighting over where Otis and Daisy should live. Her attorney, Laura Wasser, claimed the Booksmart filmmaker “cannot” afford to constantly battle with Jason over whether or not their case will be moved from California to New York:
“Jason should not be permitted to litigate Olivia into debt, and then claim she should be deprived of her right to seek a need-based fee contribution from him.”
She also accused him of blindsiding her with these legal matters, claiming they had been working on building a “more amicable” co-parenting relationship:
“I thought things were calming down and were going to move forward in a more amicable, respectful fashion. Instead I learned on January 10, 2023 that the entire time I was negotiating the parenting time schedule in California [Jason] was plotting to proceed with the New York Child Support proceeding behind my back.”
However, the 47-year-old called BS on her claims! An insider fired back at Olivia’s accusations, telling Entertainment Tonight:
“The fact that [Wilde is] pleading poverty after having a successful career is insane.”
Nevertheless, Olivia ended up scoring a big win as the judge determined their custody case will be heard in El Lay and not in NY like Jason has been pushing for. Despite their tumultuous court battle, it seems like the two are putting any animosity aside for their kids. At least, they can agree on that!
