Peter Madrigal has entered the chat!
During an appearance on the Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend podcast on Thursday, the beloved SUR manager, who interestingly went on some dates with Raquel Leviss during season 10 of Vanderpump Rules, weighed in on the Scandoval. And like some of the other cast members, Peter was suspicious that something “weird” was going on between the 28-year-old reality star and Tom Sandoval before their affair was exposed! He said on the episode:
“Let’s just put it this way, I found it very interesting — I’m not gonna go into the details, because there are certain things I can’t go into details about — but how do I put this, they were hanging out quite a bit without Ariana [Madix] around. In the back of my head, I’m like, ‘This is weird, but OK, maybe Tom’s just trying to show her the ropes or something like that.’ Some ropes!”

As you most likely know, Ariana Madix broke up with Sandoval last week after he was caught having a months-long affair with Raquel. Former cast member Kristen Doute revealed this week that the 37-year-old discovered the seven-month fling after finding a screen recording of “a FaceTime of he and Raquel masturbating.” The news came as a complete shock to the cast and fans. But according to Peter, he believed some people involved with the show knew about the affair before it was revealed:
“I know this for a fact. I’m not gonna reveal any names, but I know that a few people knew about this and tipped Scheana [Shay] off. That’s the way I think the scenario happened. I do know some people knew about it for a while.”
Claiming that everyone’s timeline is slightly wrong, Peter alleged that Scheana first confronted Raquel about the situation while taping Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. She then shared with Ariana what she’d found out, and that’s when the cocktail book author went through Sandoval’s phone and discovered the explicit evidence. But according to Doute, the podcast host didn’t find out about the affair until after filming Andy Cohen’s talk show:
“She’s walking around all Raquel-like and Scheana asks, ‘Who are you on the phone with? What’s going on?’ And she too casually says, ‘I’m talking to Ariana. Sandoval and I had a seven-month affair.’ You’re telling this to Ariana’s best friend. Scheana snatched her phone. She threw it in the gutter. Raquel is saying they’re in love and they’re going to be together.”
From there, Scheana allegedly punched Raquel in the eye. The former pageant queen was granted a restraining order against the mom of one, claiming that she had physically assaulted her over the affair with Sandoval. For her part, Scheana shut down the allegations through her attorney Neama Rahmani:
“This case is a fabrication by a known liar and a cheat who has betrayed everyone close to her. Scheana never punched Raquel, period. The supposed dark markings around her left eye have been there for months.”
Peter noted on the podcast that he doesn’t know exactly what went down between Raquel and Scheana, and he only found out about the cheating scandal when the news broke on March 3. So everyone should take some parts of his recollection with a grain of salt!
But another person on the cast who might have known something was going on? Tom Schwartz. Many fans believe the 40-year-old business owner attempted to help his longtime best friend Sandoval and Raquel keep their affair a secret by hooking up with her during Scheana’s wedding in August. Even Lisa Vanderpump said she wouldn’t be surprised if Schwartz covered for the cover band frontman since they are so close! However, Kristen claimed he only “found out a month ago” about the affair.
So what does Peter think? Well, the filmmaker doesn’t know whether Schwartz covered for Sandoval and Raquel – but he also feels there’s a chance he did know about the relationship:
“That’s a good question. Here’s the way I’m gonna put it. Those two are like brothers. Anything I’m doing, I’m telling my BFF or my brother Jude. So, it’s hard to believe that Schwartz didn’t know anything. … But I’ll believe that he didn’t know [until hearing otherwise].”
He then added:
“I do feel sorry for Schwartz, because he can be a little bit, like, ‘OK, I’ll go along with it.’”
