Prince Harry Seemingly Disses Royal Family Alongside Meghan Markle: 'There Is So Much More Still To Do'

prince harry calls out UK's colonization past

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are continuing to stand up for what’s right, even if that means shading their family!

It’s become pretty clear the couple feels strongly about standing up against racial injustice, and their exit from the royal fam means they can be a bit more vocal about their thoughts. And we heard Harry loud and clear when he hinted at calling out his homeland for its past of colonization.

During a July 1 session of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, which Harry serves as the president of and Meghan works as the VP, the pair discussed the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as topics of equal rights, justice, and fairness with young leaders from Team QCT.

Archie Harrison‘s dad acknowledged:

“So many people have done such an incredible job of acknowledging the past and trying to right those wrongs, but I think we all acknowledge there is so much more still to do. It’s not going to be easy, and in some cases, it’s not going to be comfortable, but it needs to be done because –guess what everybody benefits.”

It’s so important to hear this!!

The 35-year-old added:

“When you look across the Commonwealth, there is no way that we can move forward unless we acknowledge the past.”

Further recognizing his privilege as a white man, Prince William‘s younger bro explained:

“We can’t deny or ignore the fact that all of us have been educated to see the world differently. However, once you start to realize that there is that bias there, then you need to acknowledge it, you need to do the work to become more aware … so that you can help stand up for something that is so wrong and should not be acceptable in our society today.”

Meghan chimed in as well:

“It’s not just in the big moments, it’s in the quiet moments where racism and unconscious bias lies and thrives. It makes it confusing for a lot of people to understand the role that they play in that, both passively and actively. We’re going to get there, and we have a lot of renewed faith and energy in that having had this conversation.”

Ch-ch-check out what else the couple had to say (below):

On the same day, Harry apologized on behalf of older generations for their apathy towards tackling unconscious bias racism during a video recording at the Diana Award’s virtual ceremony. It seems like he and Meg are really committed to making changes!!
