Prince William's Friend Dead -- Reportedly Killed By A Bee Flying Into His Mouth At Windsor Polo Match!

Prince William's Friend Killed By A Bee Flying Into His Mouth At Windsor Polo Match!

Prince William‘s friend has passed away. And the story behind his death is… really shocking, actually.

Billionaire businessman Sunjay Kapur, who often played polo alongside William and other royals, tragically died at just 53 years old on Thursday after collapsing during a polo match in Windsor, England. Kapur was the chairman of Sona Comstar, a global car parts company, which announced his death in a statement, saying he died of a “sudden heart attack.”

According to The Telegraph and The Mirror, Sunjay’s death was a result of anaphylactic shock — apparently after a bee flew into his mouth and stung him! Oh no! How horrible.

Sunjay reportedly said, “I’ve swallowed something,” just before the medical emergency, witnesses told The Telegraph (though others denied these reports, saying he lost consciousness after bending over on his horse during a pause in the match). Another insider shared with The Mirror:

“He was full of life, laughing, joking, then gone in an instant.”

Such a shocking way to go. While his company did not confirm the bee sting theory, it fits. Anaphylaxis causes the immune system to release chemicals that can lead to someone going into shock — resulting in lowered blood pressure, respiratory symptoms, skin reactions, cardiovascular issues, and more, per the Mayo Clinic.

Sunjay shared two children, a daughter, Samaira, 20, and a son, Kiaan, 14, with his ex-wife, Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor. He also shared another son, Azarias, 7, with his current wife, model Priya Sachdev. A source close to his family told The Mirror:

“Sunjay was in excellent health. No one could believe what had happened. It’s a shocking reminder of how fragile life can be.”

A friend of the businessman’s remembered him dearly, telling Telegraph Sport:

“He will be greatly missed not only by his family and friends but the local community around his club as he employed so many people and made so many friends — he was fun, kind and generous. He didn’t distinguish between his grooms or high net worth friends — when he had a party, everyone was invited and everyone was equal.”

Just hours before his death, Sunjay took to his X (Twitter) page to send his condolences to those who lost loved ones in the Air India plane crash earlier that day. So devastating his family is now mourning his sudden loss. May he rest in peace.
