Princess Catherine & Prince William Make First Joint Appearance Together Since She Finished Chemo!

Princess Catherine is back to work!

Kate made an official royal appearance with her husband Prince William this week — her first since finishing chemotherapy treatment just weeks ago. And there was for a very sentimental reason for the outing.

On Wednesday, William hosted an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, where the royal family met photographer Liz Hatton. Liz is currently battling an aggressive cancer diagnosis known as Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumors, a rare form of sarcoma. The 16-year-old was diagnosed earlier this year and told she only had approximately three and a half years to live, per Sky News. The teen’s scary health predicament inspired her to create a bucket list of things she wanted to photograph in her life — including photographing a royal. That’s something Will and Kate helped her accomplish this week! How wonderful!

After snapping pics of the event, Liz and her family were seen posing with the royal couple, and the cancer patients also embraced for a sweet hug. William and Kate reflected on their Instagram:

“A pleasure to meet with Liz at Windsor today. A talented young photographer whose creativity and strength has inspired us both. Thank you for sharing your photos and story with us. W&C”

They also shared several of the photos she took at the ceremony. Look!

Amazing!

Awww! She’s so good! Reflecting on the special day, Liz commented:

“it was my absolute pleasure to meet everyone and take photos today at Windsor, it was a great honour and was essentially a dream come true, so I truly hope to be a part of any and all future events! xx”

So sweet! It’s awesome to see how Kate has used her cancer journey to connect with others going through similar battles! And she’s looking really great, too, especially compared to earlier in the year before her cancer diagnosis was made public!

As Perezcious readers know, the Princess of Wales announced she’s “cancer free” in early September after undergoing chemo for an unidentified form of cancer. While she’ll still be prioritizing her health for the foreseeable future, she noted she was eager to attend more events and step back into the public eye again, sharing:

“I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can. Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.”

It’s lovely to see her finally getting back to it!
