Princess Catherine and Prince William grew a lot closer and aren’t afraid to share their feelings with the world after her cancer battle.
According to a source close to the royal household via People on Wednesday, the couple are “more open” than ever before and actually “talk about their relationship together.”
They’ve never been able to keep their romance out of the spotlight, but they have been more lovey-dovey in publicly lately. This seems particularly noteworthy after the rough year they had! Not only did Kate battle cancer, but before she even announced her diagnosis, the Princess and Prince of Wales were dealing with a resurgence of rumors of marriage troubles. Amid all the conspiracy theories about her health and whereabouts was the resurfaced claim that the future king had an affair with her former friend, Rose Hanbury. Rose has vehemently denied it, of course, but the whispers never stopped.

We hope they’re only being “more open” now about their romance because they have a new perspective on life and their relationship after the scary illness. But we also can’t help but wonder if this is their way of trying to hit back at cheating rumors once and for all? It’s hard for claims about infidelity to gain traction if they seem so in love, right? Hmm.
Doubling down on the importance of her family, a close royal insider shared:
“For the princess, family — her husband and children — are more important than anything else.”
For his part, William has made it clear just how much he loves his wife ever since her health battle. For her birthday earlier this month, he gushed about her in a heartfelt post. They also showed off their happy family life in an emotional montage video in September when Kate announced she was finished with treatment. On all this PDA, royal biographer Ingrid Seward mused:
“William must feel so fortunate that Kate has come through this that he wants to tell the world about that love. It shows the intimacy of them sharing that journey together.”
She continued:
“They are able to express themselves in a way they would never have done before.”
Royal historian and writer Dr. Amanda Foreman agreed, noting that the mother of three has shown her love for William more publicly this year, saying:
“They feel they are very lucky to be married to each other. Their marriage is strong, and they are being honest about it.”
Well, we’re glad to hear that. At least there’s a silver lining to this very tough health journey. We’re wishing nothing but the best for the fam as they move forward from this cancer ordeal.
