It was awful what happened to Rachael Ray‘s aunt after Thanksgiving — she was accidentally locked in the back yard of a house she was housesitting for in New York and ended up freezing to death.
What an awful and tragic way to go, and it must have been SO hard on her family.
Rachael didn’t attend attend the funeral, sadly, due to business commitments. Which, you know, happens! Sometimes you’d like to be somewhere but you just can’t. We understand that, and Rachael’s brother understands that.
What her COUSIN doesn’t understand, however, are the ├óΓé¼┼ôinsensitive├óΓé¼┬¥ and ├óΓé¼┼ôinappropriate├óΓé¼┬¥ tweets Ray sent out the day of the Dec. 5 service — which were mundane and business-oriented despite what the rest family was going through that day:

Here’s what her cousin, Gina Mesnick, said:
├óΓé¼┼ôI found it very insensitive and inappropriate. It just shows how demeaning Rachael was to my family on the day we buried my mom after she died under such horrible circumstances. It├óΓé¼Γäós inexcusable. It shows a total lack of caring.”
We’re hearing that even with the business commitments and stuff that Rachaels’ husband STILL didn’t attend in her place!
Honestly, we’re sure it isn’t as black and white as people are making it, but the effort would’ve been nice — at least put a hold on your twitter for the day!
