Rachel Zegler is walking those controversial Snow White comments back!
As you know, the remake of the classic Disney movie had everyone talking for one reason or another. From casting choices, to the costumes and set design, to the trailer — it made waves on social media. And if you’ll recall, the lead actress’ comments about the original 1937 film had fans pretty upset.

Back in September 2022, Rachel told Variety she thought the original flick was “weird” and her remake was going to be NOTHING like it:
“The original cartoon came out in 1937, and very evidently so. There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird! Weird! So we didn’t do that this time.”
She even said the actor playing the Prince, Andrew Burnap, “could get cut” from the cast and she wouldn’t care! Extremely harsh and honestly downright rude to her costar… and it understandably had fans of the iconic Disney Princess ruffled! But now, Rachel seems to have had some PR training, and she’s taking it all back.
On Thursday’s episode of Good Morning America, she said she’s a “huge Disney fan”:
“It was the honor of a lifetime. I think every young person dreams about a phone call like that. This one is certainly extra special as a huge Disney fan.”
She went on to say she’s “very honored” for the “beautiful opportunity”:
“To get to bring her to life in such a unique way and such a special way, it’s just a beautiful opportunity, and I’m very honored.”
The West Side Story alum said the story is Snow’s “heart” — a big change from what she said before:
“It’s all about bridging a classic to a modern age to bring it to these beautiful young people. Her superpower remains her heart, you know, that’s always been the core of this story. That’s always been the core of the Disney Company.”
