Rich Homie Quan’s cause of death has finally been confirmed.
Last month, the 33-year-old rapper was found dead in his home in Atlanta. His girlfriend, Amber Williams, found him unresponsive on the couch in the living room and called 911, telling the dispatcher he was not breathing, did not have a heartbeat, and began foaming at the mouth when she moved him. So awful.

His exact cause of death was not revealed at the time. However, there was speculation Rich — whose real name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar — died from an overdose after audio of the 911 call dropped. His friend Boosie Badazz also posted on X (Twitter):
“JUST GOT WORD @RichHomieQuan JUST OD”
Now, we have confirmation about what happened to Rich. According to TMZ on Tuesday, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed he died from the combined effects of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, and promethazine. The Type of Way artist also had THC in his system at the time, per his toxicology results. The report said he showed no signs of trauma when his body was found and examined, so his death was ruled as an accident.
But yeah. Fentanyl. Again. Dammit.
What a tragedy. Our hearts continue to go out to Amber and the rest of his family. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments.
