Rihanna & A$AP Rocky Are Just 'Close Friends' With Nothing 'Romantic' Between Them!

Just when we were starting to think of a good ship name for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, a new source has come forward to throw a wrench in our plans!

The 31-year-old songstress had us all guessing about her relationship status with the A$AP Mob artist earlier this week when they were spotted getting cozy together merely hours after the news broke that she and Hassan Jameel had broken up.

We shamelessly speculated this could be a rebound fling or perhaps an OTP we overlooked from the start — but apparently, the two entertainers are nothing more than good old pals if the latest from Us Weekly is to be believed!

The source shared with the outlet:

“A$AP has always thought Rihanna was cool and gorgeous. But they have way more of a best friend [or] cousin relationship.”

Well, we certainly agree on that first part about the Bajan stunner. But really? Just a friendly vibe even after years of on-and-off dating rumors and actually locking lips at one point back in 2013?

“They are very close friends, but nothing ever seems romantic between the two of them.”

As we mentioned earlier, this report follows a conspicuously friendly sighting between the two backstage at the Yams Day Benefit Concert in New York City on January 17. In photographs captured of them at the event, Rihanna and A$AP weren’t exactly holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes — but they did seem very close and happy in each other’s company.

We guess that’s what the friend zone looks like nowadays, huh. LOLz. Hey, at least A$AP is an attractive shoulder to lean on in any capacity, right?

Since the Diamonds singer is reportedly still single after her split from Hassan, maybe she’ll stay that way for a bit to regroup after her almost three-year relationship with the Saudi businessman couldn’t go the distance.

Depending on how you look at, Rihanna might’ve hinted at all of this in a June 2019 profile with Interview magazine where she declined to reveal whether or not she’d marry Jameel.

When asked if wedding bells were in the cards for her, the Love On The Brain singer said:

“Only God knows that, girl. We plan and God laughs, right?”

The Grammy winner did also mention later in the interview that she wants to be a mother “more than anything in life,” though. We’re inclined to believe that baby-making, along with those seemingly non-existent wedding plans, will be put on hold for the foreseeable future.
