MTV is finally celebrating all of her work!
The cable network announced Thursday that Rihanna will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2016 VMAs!
The R&B star will be presented with the honor at the award show on August 28 — where she’s also up for multiple awards, including Best Female Video for Work and Best Male Video for her appearance in Calvin Harris‘ This Is What You Came For.
The coveted award, which was created in 1984 and named after the King of Pop in 1991, celebrates an artist’s accomplishments in music, fashion, film, and philanthropy — all arts RiRi has certainly mastered.

In recent years, the Video Vanguard Award was handed to Justin Timberlake (2013), Beyonc├â┬⌐ (2014), and Kanye West (2015) — who, last year, announced his 2020 candidacy for president in his long-winded acceptance rant speech.
We have a feeling the Anti songstress’ speech will be a lot more subdued than her predecessor, but you never know what will happen at the VMAs!
Ch-ch-check out RiRi’s gracious tweet (below) and catch the VMAs August 28 at 9 p.m. EST on MTV!
