So sad!
We are totally heart broken over passing of the Virginia Zoo’s baby giraffe.
The baby, who was just 20 days old, was found dead in his enclosure early Thursday morning.
Our source says the necropsy results showed that the giraffe died from peritonitis, which is an inflammation of the stomach lining.
“The baby giraffe’s loss is a tragedy. In his short time here, our staff and visitors had already grown attached to him,”
explains the zoo’s executive director, Greg Bockheim.
Just three weeks ago we announced the baby’s six-foot drop into the world.
