Awww….he’s so cute!!!
A golden-headed lion tamarin was welcomed to the Santa Ana Zoo family on April 26th, a rare site from this less extensive breed.
This teeny babe is only one-eighth of a pound!
As a reference, adult golden-headed tamarin weigh less than a pound too!
Golden-headed tamarins need conservation help BADLY. They are only native to the coast of Brazil and even Santa Ana’s tamarins are on loan from the Brazilian government.
Santa Ana’s four golden-headed lion tamarins, coupled with their golden lion tamarins, make up the largest family of this type of monkey in North America.
These little monkeys are SOOOO aDORable!!!
