Sarah Paulson is honestly shocked at how many people are fascinated by her romance with Holland Taylor.
As you surely know, the American Horror Story actress has been dating the 74-year-old industry vet for about three years now — and people still can’t get over it. For a sit down with NET-A-PORTER‘s digital magazine, titled The Edit, Miz Paulson defended her unconventional relationship by noting that it’s the “least interesting thing about [her].”

The Emmy winner explained:
“My life choices are, um, unconventional. I’m with a much older person and people find that totally fascinating and odd, and, to me, it’s the least interesting thing about me. But I do feel a bit unconventional.”
Thankfully, Sarah is totally unapologetic for the independent life she leads. She continued:
“I am a woman of a certain age who chose not to have children, and who has made my career my priority. I am the captain of my own ship, and I’ve never looked to anyone else to validate that, or tell me it’s okay.”
YASSSS, kween. Sadly, many tried to dissuade the 42-year-old from pursuing a relationship with Holland as some thought it would affect her career. The American Crime Story vet added:
“Early on, when people found out I was with Holland, some said: ‘I think you have to be careful, I’m afraid it’s going to affect your career negatively.’ I was like, what? It never occurred to me at all.”
Regardless, prior to her acceptance speech at the 2016 Emmy Awards, Sarah wasn’t certain if she’d acknowledge Taylor during her address. Paulson recalled:
“It occurred to me, should I not [say ‘I love you’ to Taylor onstage]? And then I thought, why would I not? The fact I’m having this thought is wrong. But I had a moment of societal concern; wondering if, maybe, people who didn’t know that about me would be like, wait, what? But then, you know, I did it anyway.”
Love always wins! Although Sarah is baffled by all the attention she gets, she does acknowledge one very cool thing about herself — that she is in a group chat with Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, and Awkwafina. In case you forgot, Paulson stars alongside these powerful ladies in the upcoming Ocean’s Eight movie.
Sarah should get used to people talking about her, as her star power is about climb even higher! LOLz.
