Scooter Braun Speaks Out About Taylor Swift Drama -- 'I Don't Do Anything With Malicious Intent'

taylor swift scooter braun podcast interview

Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun are going back at it, AGAIN!

The 38-year-old is continuing to hold his ground in the never-ending public battle over his purchase of Taylor Swift‘s masters in the acquisition of Big Machine Records from founder Scott Borchetta.

While chatting with host Tony Gonzalez of the Wide Open podcast, the talent manager is defending himself against Swifties and haters alike:

“I don’t do anything with malicious intent. I try to do things above board. I try to do the right thing. Not everyone’s gonna be happy with everything that you do, and I think in the long-term, I’ve learned this over time, the truth always comes out, and I’m confident in that.”

Through all the drama, he’s continuing to stay focused on family and friends:

“I went through some drama recently and then I put my phone down and looked at my friends and my family in my backyard and I was like, ‘I’m good. I’ve done nothing with malicious intent, I’m happy.’ … As long as the people that I love and respect are my compass, that’s the direction I’m going to go in.”

But this isn’t the first time he’s spoken out about the whole mess, which has garnered the attention of Justin BieberHalsey, and more celebs who have chimed in with their respective support, he’s even praised the artist on the recent success of Lover, penning to Twitter:

“Regardless of what has been said the truth is you don’t make big bets unless you are a believer and always have been. Brilliant album with #Lover. Congrats
@taylorswift13. Supporting was always the healthier option ? #brilliantalbum #brilliantcampaign congrats”

It wasn’t even three months ago that everything boiled over online when Miz Swift aired her feelings, and Braun’s dirty laundry, online in a scathing Tumblr post about the business transaction:

“For years I asked, pleaded for a chance to own my work. Instead I was given an opportunity to sign back up to Big Machine Records and ‘earn’ one album back at a time, one for every new one I turned in. I walked away because I knew once I signed that contract, Scott Borchetta would sell the label, thereby selling me and my future. I had to make the excruciating choice to leave behind my past. Music I wrote on my bedroom floor and videos I dreamed up and paid for from the money I earned playing in bars, then clubs, then arenas, then stadiums.

Some fun facts about today’s news: I learned about Scooter Braun’s purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world. All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years.”

We HIGHLY doubt Tay has moved on as quickly as Scooter has seemed to!
