Selena Gomez is sticking up for Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater!
Ever since the Wicked co-stars got together, they’ve been embroiled in cheating allegations considering they were both married when they met. They claimed they had already split from their respective partners — but news of the romance broke almost immediately after Ariana revealed she was done with Dalton Gomez. That’s certainly suspicious timing! And we could go on and on about all the fishy reports that surfaced to back up the cheating claims…
Amid their promo tour the last few weeks, they’ve each broken their silence on the relationship and denied anything sketchy occurred — despite ongoing speculation! Well, now Selena is standing up for them, too!

Last month, an Ariana fan account on Instagram shared a quote from the pop star’s interview with Vanity Fair, in which she slammed tabloids for spreading so much “negativity” about her boyfriend. The quote read:
“it definitely doesn’t get any easier, seeing some of the negativity that was birthed by disreputable tabloids… of course, i went through a lot of life changes during the filming of this movie. a lot of people that were working on it did. we were away for two years. so, of course, i understand why it was a field day for the tabloids to sort of create something that paid their bills. the most disappointing part was to see so many people believe the worst version of it. that was definitely a tough ride. there couldn’t be a less accurate depiction of a human being than the one that the tabloids spread about him. no one on this earth tries harder or spreads themselves thinner to be there for the people that he loves and cares about. there is no one on this earth with a better heart, and that is something that no bulls**t tabloid can rewrite in real life.”
Not surprisingly, Ari actually liked the post — but the Wizards of Waverly Place alum was also just seen interacting with it, too! On Thursday, the Who Says singer commented:

Wow!!!
So supportive! We’re not shocked to see Ariana and Ethan deny, deny, deny every chance they can get, but it is inneresting to see Selly chiming into the drama. Does she know something we don’t? Does she really think the couple did nothing wrong? Or is she just defending her pals against tabloids — regardless of what’s true or not? Hmm.
