Just like any good friend, Selena Gomez is being cautious about her bestie’s new relationship!
A source close to the Lose You To Love Me songstress dished to PageSix on Monday how she’s a little concerned about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s booming romance. With Tay Tay’s history of being super private, this is a new side of her none of us are used to seeing, including her best friend:
“Selena thinks Taylor going to games and galavanting through New York immediately after just meeting Travis is something that is very unlike her. Historically, Taylor’s always been super private about everything, and now with this [relationship], she’s so open about it that it’s just very odd for Selena.”
We mean, Selly has a point! In the full six years the Anti Hero singer was linked to Joe Alwyn, we only got to see bits and pieces of their romance. New doesn’t always necessarily mean a bad thing, but it makes sense if the 31-year-old is a bit worried. In fact, the insider said she believes the 33-year-old’s behavior with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is “alarming” — especially since she was so quick to meet Donna Kelce!

That’s not all, though. The Look At Her Now singer also thinks it’s weird Taylor and Travis have been so chill with being spotted by the paparazzi — much unlike herself, who allegedly turned down a few of her bestie’s invites to a Chiefs game to avoid a “media frenzy”:
“Selena just doesn’t want to be part of the media frenzy because it’s really chaotic … It didn’t come from a malicious place, and it’s not that she doesn’t like them together. She’s just concerned about the way it’s being navigated.”
Meanwhile, apparently Taylor’s other besties — the Haim sisters — “think this way as well.” This is apparently why her closest friends have been absent on all her girls’ night out parties! Oof!
We have to agree, this is definitely not what we’re used to seeing from T-Swizzle. And with these kinds of reviews from her closest friends — well, who’s to say? But ya know what, we still ship Traylor all day long! Whatever makes Taylor happy!
