Selena Gomez wanted to show her appreciation for Katy Perry by dedicating one of her songs The One That Got Away at the 2011 Jingle Ball.
Selena told the crowd:

“One of my inspirations is Katy Perry. She├óΓé¼Γäós been really wonderful and just really good as a person to me I think, she├óΓé¼Γäós given me like two songs of hers and she├óΓé¼Γäós been great so in honor of Katy we wanted to do this song for her.”
