Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco Are Definitely Going To Try For Kids Right Away - She's 'So Excited' To Be A Mom!

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are ready to take a major step in their relationship someday soon: having kids!

During a new episode of the Jay Shetty Podcast on Monday, the engaged couple opened up about their plans to welcome children into the world. Selena and Benny both already know they want kids. It’s something they have been very open about during their relationship. In fact, Benny previously said having children is his “next goal” — potentially even before marriage! LOLz!

Whether the two decide to tie the knot or have a baby first, we’ll see! We wouldn’t be surprised if it happens right away! However, whenever the time comes, Selena will be absolutely thrilled to be a mom! She said on the podcast:

“I don’t know what will happen, obviously, but I love children. I have an 11-year-old sister that I absolutely adore. I’m still doing Wizards [of Waverly Place] this far along because I love children. I love making them laugh; they’re just so sweet. So absolutely, when that day comes, I’m so excited for it.”

Aww!

Benny then noted Selena is “the ultimate level of shy” around everyone — but not when it comes to children! The 37-year-old music producer said:

“When she walks into a room, her main goal is to disappear into the crowd. My mom is very similar, her and my mom are very similar. They’ll wait and say like one thing throughout the night that winds up being the most poignant or funny thing of the night. But I’m gonna have diarrhea of the mouth talking to everyone.”

Ha! They balance each other out then! He added:

“Whenever there’s kids at a place it’s the only time I see her do that. She immediately goes to the kids and has these conversations for like hours with the kids.”

That is so sweet! Benny believes this may have something to do with Selena being a child star, saying:

“When you started doing this you were a kid and that was your way to connect to people and I feel like you still feel like you have that obligation to connect with young kids. You shaped so many young people’s lives, whether it was Barney, Wizards… you’re still finding your way to do that.”

Wow! Selena is going to make such a great momma one day!

At this time, Selena and Benny have not shared how they plan to go about having children. As you may know, the 32-year-old pop star shared that she cannot carry her own kids because she suffers from “a lot of medical issues” that would not only put her life in jeopardy but the baby’s as well. She was diagnosed with lupus in 2013 and had to undergo a kidney transplant four years later. So, it’s understandable why she doesn’t want to risk anything. Thankfully, there are options for those who want to become parents and can’t have kids themselves like adoption and surrogacy.

Selena previously told Time after five years of being alone, she planned to adopt if she hadn’t met her partner by 35. But then her collaborator and pal Benny came into the picture romantically. During the podcast, that interview came up. The Only Murders in the Building star was asked what gave her the “confidence to open up” after planning her future while still trying to “protect” herself, to which she replied:

“Well I think first of all making plans and trying to stick to them is silly because you don’t know what’s going to happen.”

So true! Selena then gushed about her man, saying she “can’t believe” she gets to marry her “best friend” now. She continued:

“I think for me I was genuinely set, but it was once I let go of me just saying ‘I want someone and I wish I had this, I wish I had that.’ Instead, I changed my mind to ‘I’m so lucky that I get to wake up and my family is healthy and I love spending time with my friends and if it doesn’t happen, I know I’ve always wanted to be a mom.’ You know, so of course I kind of planned that out.”

One way or another, Selena and Benny are going to be parents! And we cannot wait to see them in that era of their lives together! Watch the new interview (below):
