1D? Sounds like two members might be acting like Ds right now! Ha!
The members of One Direction have all set out on solo career paths, but the trajectory has not been the same all around.
Niall Horan has successfully found a niche with his warm, folky pop. His debut solo effort, 2017’s Flicker, was a huge success, going platinum in the US (double platinum in his home country of Ireland where citizens are legally required to purchase a copy).
And of course Harry Styles just continues to be a meteor hurtling through space. His 2017 self-titled was a smash hit and on tons of year-end best album lists; the upcoming followup Fine Line looks to be even bigger!

Then there’s Liam Payne.
He’s gotten off to a much slower start, with his debut coming two full years behind his bandmates. He recently announced LP1 would finally be dropping in December — on December 6 to be exact.
If that date sounds familiar to all you Directioners out there, well, that’s the problem.

Yep, he’s dropping his next single from Fine Line, a sure to be smash called Adore You, on Friday, December 6. To be fair, this is just a week in advance of the album, so the date is hardly arbitrary but…
IT’S THE SAME DAY AS LIAM’S ALBUM!
Will his one song overshadow his former bandmate’s entire album? For most artists we’d say no, but for Harry Styles? Maybe so!
If you’re wondering who was there first, it’s no contest. Liam announced on October 18, nearly two months ago.
Should Harry have given Liam space to forge out with his first record? Could he possibly have scheduled to sabotage??

Two days after Harry told fans he was dropping his single on the 6th, Niall announced he, too, would be gifting the world with a music baby on the same due date!
That means his next single Put A Little Love On Me is also out on the exact same day as Liam’s album drops!
Come on, guys, what gives here??
One could be a coincidence, but BOTH? At the same time?? That’s getting tougher to believe.
So what’s the deal? Is it music execs just trying to capitalize on One Direction heat? Or are the boys hazing their former bandmate??
