Sharon Osbourne Defends Mariah Carey's 'Technical Nightmare' Of A New Year's Eve Performance -- But Thinks The Singer Should Have Done THIS To Save It!

Sharon Osbourne has dealt with her fair share of crises in the public eye.
So the TV personality had nothing but sympathy for Mariah Carey in the wake of the diva’s now-notorious NYE performance fail!
On Tuesday’s The Talk, the British co-host weighed in on Mimi’s performance issues during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, and broke down her team’s claims that the superstar was “sabotaged” with a bad earpiece.

While Ozzy Osbourne‘s wife felt sorry Mariah had to go through “a technical nightmare,” she believed the performance could have been salvaged had the songstress explained the malfunction a bit more properly to the crowd.
The 64-year-old said:

“If [Mariah would] have taken the time out to say, ‘Look everyone, my in-ears are not working, I can hear nothing. Let’s all just sing along to the track.’ I think it would have been the way to go and stop all this speculation.”

Well, hindsight is 20/20 — but we don’t think taking time to explain technical problems in the middle of Times Square is the Elusive Chanteuse’s style so much as sauntering across stage and dropping vague, shady remarks, along with the occasional high note.
