Sulli found dead

Korean actress and singer Sulli has been found dead at 25.

The young star was discovered at her home in Seongnam of Gyeonggi Province on Monday by her manager, having spoken to her the night before but still being unable to reach her today.

Seongnam Sujeong Police Station confirmed the news, as the Seongnam Fire Station also stated to Dispatch:

“We received the report of her death at about 3:20 p.m. She had already passed away when we arrived on the scene.”

According to CNN, a police official said they will be investigating her death, but there are supposedly not signs of an intrusion:

“So far, it seems she killed herself, but we will leave all possibilities open and investigate.”

A note has been found by law enforcement, who have described it as her expressing her feelings. The contents will not be revealed.

K-Pop fans will remember Sulli was once a member of girl group f(x), joining Amber, Vanessa, Krystal, and Luna until she left to pursue her acting career in August 2015.

SM Entertainment, the group’s agency, released a statement following her passing, sharing:

“This is SM Entertainment.

We apologize for conveying such sad and unfortunate news.

Sulli has left our side.

We cannot believe the situation now and we are just filled with grief.

For her family who is grieving after the sudden news of her passing, we earnestly request that you refrain from writing speculative articles or spreading rumors. We express our deep condolences.”

As of this writing, her former band members have yet to address the news, but we will be keeping them in our thoughts during this difficult time.

Sulli’s fans are, of course, mourning her loss on Twitter as they remind followers about the harmful effects of cyberbullying, as she recently appeared on a TV show, talking about the backlash she received online.

Rest in peace, Sulli.
