When Beverly Johnson’s account of how Bill Cosby allegedly drugged her was first made public, we were just plain shocked. Now, watching her speak about it on live TV, we’re even more haunted by her words.
Beverly courageously opened up to the ladies of The View about her audition for The Cosby Show that went horribly wrong.
According to Beverly, Bill had invited her to his New York City brownstone for dinner and then a cappuccino, which she alleges was laced with a knockout drug.

She said the drug took effect right away:
“The room started spinning a little. And then I took another sip, and then [the drug] was coming on like a moving train. At that moment, I knew I had been drugged … I cocked my head to one side and looked him dead in the eye and said, ‘you’re a motherf-cker.'”
Afterwards, Johnson alleges Cosby dragged her down the stairs and threw her in a cab.
Somehow, despite being drugged, she made it home safely:
“The next morning, I felt devastated. I was numb”
For years, fear kept her from coming forward:
“I decided to come out because i saw all these courageous woman telling their story, which were eerily similar to mine … I don’t care about other people’s opinions about me. I care about doing the right thing.”
It took a lot of bravery to come out with this story, but we’re proud that she was able to muster the strength to tell it.
Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg, who had been previously thanked by Bill on Twitter for her support, was pressing Beverly delicately for the most part, even though Whoopi wanted Beverly to clarify that she wasn’t allegedly raped by Bill.
Beverly’s response?
“I don’t think so. No.”
