Sutton Foster wanted nothing to do with the inevitable questions about her messy love life this weekend!
On Sunday, the actress stepped out for the 69th Annual Drama Desk Awards, where she was nominated for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical for Once Upon a Mattress. It was a big night for her, but she didn’t have her boyfriend Hugh Jackman by her side to celebrate — and that seemed very deliberate because she spent the night seemingly avoiding any mention of him!

Per DailyMail.com, the Younger actress stepped on the red carpet right before Sunday’s show was about to start. The 50-year-old posed for photos solo and was also joined by her Broadway co-star Michael Urie. See (below):

She seemed in good spirits — and she didn’t want anything bringing the mood down!
After taking pics, Sutton stuck close to her publicist as she made a quick exit off the carpet — avoiding ALL the press! Considering she was up for a big award and many other attendees made sure to stop for questions throughout the night, it sure seemed like this was very intentional.
TBH, it’s not shocking. Her romance has been back in the spotlight after Hugh’s ex, Deborra-Lee Furness, finally filed for divorce and basically confirmed rumors that Hugh cheated on her with the younger woman, who would have also been married at the time she is said to have started hooking up with the Deadpool & Wolverine star. Yeah, no wonder Sutton wanted no part in that Q&A with reporters! That would’ve been brutal!
As Hugh’s divorce is only “getting more complicated,” Sutton has reportedly started living in his New York City penthouse with him — even as they navigate relationship challenges of their own. A source told Us Weekly over the weekend that Sutton is sticking by her man’s side during this difficult chapter:
“[Hugh] is still with Sutton, and they are trying to navigate this delicately. She has been very supportive.”
Going solo at the award ceremony was the right choice if they’re trying to dodge more speculation and criticism! Reactions?! Sound OFF (below)!
