Sydney Sweeney really said “New Year, New Me” in 2025!
While we’re only just learning about the demise of her engagement with longtime partner Jonathan Davino, it turns out the pair have been broken up for a long time! All the way at the start of the year!
Shortly after People said reported the romance is over, TMZ got the timeline intel on Monday night, with a source spilling that the couple has been living separate lives for MONTHS. The insider said the actress and businessman aren’t together romantically — and they haven’t been since January! That’s when they split. Whoa!

The duo was last photographed in public on January 20 while out and about together — though they didn’t look particularly lovey-dovey during the sighting. They were in NYC at the time while Syd was on a break from filming The Housemaid, one of her many upcoming projects. In their last pics, Jonathan is seen walking behind Sydney at night in the city (see HERE); however, this was also the same weekend when they were spotted getting into a playful snowball fight. So, not all love was lost yet.

Just about a month later, word on the street was they indefinitely postponed their May wedding. Then, of course, sources revealed the Euphoria star had been living in the Beverly Hills Hotel for weeks without any sighting of her partner. Instead, she was hanging with her pals, who she then took with her to Paris Fashion Week.
Interestingly, Jonathan was seen checking on the construction at her mansion at this time, but we guess he was just doing a nice thing for her if they’d already broken up! Or maybe he still had hope they’d work things out?? That probably vanished soon after the 27-year-old deleted a PDA-filled NYE photo of the pair from her Instagram. She’s gone on to share sexy snaps of herself without her ring… and, perhaps most notably, stepped out with her rumored lover Glen Powell at his sister’s wedding in a move that was the epitome of life intimidating art!
It’s sad to think things went downhill so fast between Sydney and Jonathan. Heck, they looked SO in love over the holidays! But it just goes to show social media is never the full picture. Obviously, the Chicago native had been growing tired of his partner’s career-focused mindset for a while. Guess as they were looking at the busy year Syd had ahead of her, things came to a boiling point. Bummer!
