Well, this is a wild turn of events…
As you know, Taylor Frankie Paul has been caught in the middle of some serious domestic violence allegations from her ex, Dakota Mortensen. We’ve recently seen a resurfaced video of the Mormon Wives star seemingly throwing a stool at her then-boyfriend, and their child getting caught in the middle of it. On top of that, The Bachelorette season she was supposed to be on has been CANCELLED. It’s been a serious few days for the whole Mormon Wives crew…
But now, Dakota is taking matters to the law. After Taylor’s 2023 arrest, he’s once again getting police involved. Per TMZ, on Tuesday he filed for a restraining order against his ex, citing incidents that allegedly went down in late February. He claimed in the filings that when he was at home with Taylor and their son, Ever, the pair got into a heated argument. From there, he alleges she choked him, shoved him into a window, and struck him, causing him to have to physically pull her hands off of him. Whoa…
The whole situation, according to Dakota, was “chaotic” and “frightening” — and even woke up Ever because of all the yelling and screaming.
He then claimed he called 911 but Taylor “pressured and manipulated” him into telling the dispatcher that their child was just sick, and that he didn’t actually need help. The filings go on to allege Taylor was “emotionally volatile” toward Dakota and threatened to harm herself, so he tried to diffuse the situation for the sake of Ever. So, so sad.

But it didn’t stop there, Dakota’s filings claim. He said he tried to put Ever back down to sleep and climbed into bed with him. That’s when Taylor allegedly pulled the covers off of the two of them, making Ever cry over her “aggressive behavior.”
The next night, per what Dakota said, Taylor threw his phone into the wall and “physically blocked [him] from exiting” the home. But then when he did go outside, she followed him and kept yelling and screaming. When he made it out to his truck, the legal docs allege Taylor continued to attack him and “grabbed and squeezed” his face. They also claim she struck parts of his vehicle and poured a drink on him. Just awful.
Dakota said he “pushed her away from [him], which she made contact with the passenger seat”:
“I was unable to safely leave while this was happening, and my child had been left inside the home during the chaos under her watch due to our custody agreement.”
As soon as he left the home, per the filings, he alleged Taylor texted him and said she needed medical assistance because she had a bloody nose — “which I believe was an attempt to get me to return and prevent me from calling the police.”
Due to Taylor’s alleged actions, Dakota says he’s got bruises and lacerations. All in all, he’s “genuinely concerned for my safety and the safety and well-being of my child.” Heavy stuff…
The filings say Dakota wants temporary custody of their son, and he requested that Taylor shouldn’t be allowed to drink or use drugs during her parenting time.
But that’s not even all that went down, you guys!! In the Utah courthouse where Dakota was making these filings, TMZ captured pics of him running into Taylor’s OTHER ex, Tate Paul. And sources say he was headed to file his own protective orders against her. This was a total coincidence, too, they just happened to show up at the same time. OMG! See the photo HERE.
