Yes indeed, ladies and gents! If the literal olive branch wasn’t enough to convince you, it seems the era of Bad Blood is truly over!
Fans of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry sure seem to think so, as both artists have recently been exhibiting some relatively friendly behavior toward each other!
But before we get to that, a quick recap on their albums-long feud: it started in September 2014 when Taylor revealed in a Rolling Stone interview that her song Bad Blood was inspired by her relationship with a fellow artist who she was “never sure” was her friend.
That artist seemingly exposed herself the following day when Katy wrote her infamous “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing…” tweet, effectively putting their beef on the grill and turning the heat all the way up.

What followed were years of subtle dissery in the form of song lyrics, cryptic social media posts, and music video imagery. Both fandoms were pitted against each other, ready to fight to the death for their respective musical idol.
Then, in early May 2018, Miss Perry extended a (literal) olive branch to Swift in hopes of calling a ceasefire. The two have been pretty quiet since then… until this week, when all signs pointed to not only the end of a feud, but the start (or resuming?) of a friendship!
On Wednesday, Tay posted the below photo of herself cradling her new cat Benjamin Button. It was shared across all her social platforms and received hundreds of thousands of likes… including one like from a certain fellow pop superstar:

This got plenty of fans excited. Others, however, quickly pointed out that such a like wasn’t that big of a deal, as Katy loves felines just as much as the next cat lady.
But then, Taylor made a friendly gesture in return… and it was *big*.
On Thursday, Taylor updated a playlist she has on Apple Music to promote her latest single ME!, and added Katy’s new song, Never Really Over!

As Taylor explained in the description, the playlist is a collection of songs that “are the soundtrack of my story at the moment.” So, the inclusion of her former nemesis on here is a pretty big deal!
Needless to say, fans are freaking out at the gestures, with many claiming that Kaylor’s friendship was, like Perry sings in her new song, ~never really over~. Ch-ch-check out the reactions (below):
