With the Eras Tour coming to an end next weekend, what’s next for Taylor Swift?
The pop star is about to have way more free time — most of which will be dedicated to her boyfriend Travis Kelce. Will they use this time to finally get engaged? Does TayTay want to start a family after her record-breaking tour? There’s so much up in the air, and the singer is planning to take it all one day at a time.

Speaking to Us Weekly on Tuesday, an insider revealed that the Kansas City Chiefs player has been a light in the musician’s life amid her busy schedule, explaining:
“It can be very lonely at the top. This tour was one of the best [for Taylor] because Travis brightened it up.”
Aww!!
That said, don’t expect them to take things to the next level yet. A second source noted that they’d both “love to be engaged” but they “aren’t rushing it.” Why not?? Well…
What Taylor Needs Now
The first insider pointed out how the All Too Well artist likes to take things slow in relationships — like how she dated Joe Alwyn for six years and never got engaged. This doesn’t mean Travis isn’t her man, though, the confidant shared:
“Taylor does feel like Travis is The One, but jumping in is not her style. That’s just not how she does [things]. Marriage is a big deal, and she wants [it to be] forever.”
Nothing wrong with taking their time. It’s only been just over a year, anyway! Besides, the next few months will be a great test now that Taylor won’t have the responsibilities of her tour weighing on her. For his part, the tight end’s regular football season will end in January before playoffs begin. The second source shared:
“Taylor plans to stay in and hibernate [with Travis] for a while.”
They’ll likely spend time in NYC, as well. More than anything, “They want to do ‘normal things’ as a couple.” The first source added:
“Taylor and Travis are eager to spend quality time together because [that’s when] the little nuances about someone’s personality and habits come into play. They will learn so much about each other.”
Of course, “normal” will mean NOT touring the world and jetting off for away games every other week. Hmm. And to get that precious alone time, she’ll need to take a bit of time… off?
The second confidant said “Taylor’s exhausted” after her tour, detailing, “She’s excited for some relaxation and downtime.” The first source said she’ll get to work on a new album in the new year — but is talking about waiting to tour again until 2026, and on a smaller scale than this latest run. Why? They explained:
“She had such a great experience on Eras. She really wants to do it again. She loves being with all her fans; it inspires her.”
But she’s not committed to anything and wants to take time for herself before being booked and busy again. And it sounds like she needs some time to really explore her relationship in earnest. The source furthered:
“Things can change. A lot of it hinges on what happens over the next year with Travis. She’s told her team to give her one year to see how things go in her personal life.”
Wow. It sounds like before she takes that next step she needs to make sure she knows what a life with Trav looks like when they aren’t being superstars! Remember, the Eras Tour began in March 2023. She’s never been dating this man when she wasn’t on tour. And speaking of Joe Alwyn, we all know from that debacle what can happen when your entire lifestyle situation changes. She needs to make sure they’re suited to one another ALL THE TIME. Not just when they sneak a date here and there amid their insanely busy schedules.

The Holidays
Clearly the couple are exploring a life together as a family. Tay and her NFL star beau already blended well as they celebrated Thanksgiving together. The first insider said Taylor plans to host Christmas with both the Swifts and the Kelces and wants to start the new year on a low-key, relaxing note. The second source pointed out:
“They’re very intertwined. [It feels] as if they’ve been a part of each other’s [lives] for years. It’s been seamless.”
Oh, and there’s one more holiday in there. December 13. That’s right! Tay will be celebrating her 35th birthday this month! The source continued:
“She loves a quaint party with her closest friends. Taylor is excited about turning 35. She knows she’s accomplished so much.”
Trav will definitely be there. He’s been a real hit with her friends, too! The athlete is also getting to know Tay’s bestie Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds. The first source revealed:
“Taylor has always been close to Blake, but now they are doing couples things together, like double dates, and it’s helped Travis and Ryan form a bond. […] Ryan and Travis are good friends and chat regularly.”
Taylor has also become friends with other WAGs, including Patrick Mahomes‘ wife Brittany and Mecole Hardman Jr.‘s wife-to-be Chariah Gordon. It’s a great sign that they’ve so easily managed to merge their inner circles!
Starting A Family?
Despite being in love and having so much time on their hands, sources don’t think the Grammy winner is ready to start a family, either. The first source insisted:
“She’s not considering kids right now because of her career. […] Taylor and Travis are both so busy.”
The second source also weighed in:
“Taylor would love to be a mom in the next few years. […] They’re very humble and family-oriented. That’s why [their relationship] works so well.”
When the time is right, perhaps they’ll have a little kiddo. At least they’re on the same page!
New Music & More
As for the next steps in her career, don’t expect much to change. Former Sony Music exec and Managing Director of Strat Americas, Seth Schachner, told the outlet:
“Taylor and her team continually make consistently great pop music. Taylor has the goods with hooks and great production and songwriting. […] I don’t see her changing the production of her sound radically. A Taylor Swift reggae or metal release are not likely scenarios. She’s a very prolific artist. She doesn’t need to reinvent herself.”
There were also reports in 2022 that the songwriter would be directing a feature-length film for Searchlight Pictures based on an original script she wrote, so maybe that is still in the works? It would be cool, and she will have time now.
Regardless of what happens in her career and whether or not Tayvis gets engaged, they WILL continue to live their lives openly. She’s made it clear she has no intention of locking herself away from the spotlight ever again, so even when she’s off stage, she and Travis will be showing off some PDA from time to time. Love that!
