There’s a huge update about the death of Telemundo Kansas City reporter Adan Manzano!
As we previously reported, the 27-year-old journalist was found dead at the Contempra Inn in Kenner last month while in New Orleans to cover the Super Bowl. There has been a lot of mystery surrounding his death, including what happened to him! Now, we know more. During a press conference held by the Kenner Police Department on Tuesday, new details on the investigation surrounding Manzano’s passing dropped.

The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office revealed that preliminary findings showed he died from the combined toxic effects of alcohol and Alprazolam — an anti-anxiety drug usually sold under the name Xanax. So sad. “Positional asphyxia” was named as a contributing factor, which tracks since he was found face down in a pillow. The coroner also listed the manner of death as “undetermined.”
Here’s the thing, though! Despite the “undetermined” manner of death, someone has been arrested for his MURDER! As you may recall, police apprehended Danette Colbert on February 6, charging her with fraud and theft after she allegedly used Manzano’s credit card the day after his death. But on Monday, cops charged Colbert with second-degree murder! Whoa!
Investigators uncovered “critical evidence” linking the woman to the crime! According to NBC NEWS, Manzano didn’t have a prescription for the anti-anxiety drug, and the medicine was found in Colbert’s apartment. She also was seen on surveillance footage arriving at his hotel with him on the night of his death and leaving alone an hour later.
During the press conference, police claimed Colbert had an accomplice named Ricky White. He was charged with simple robbery and various fraud charges. Watch the press conference (below):
