French tennis player Richard Gasquet acknowledged yesterday that he was informed by officials that he had tested positive for cocaine use, but he fervently insists he is still innocent.
In a statement he released on Sunday, he says: “I am gathering together proof of my innocence, and I will choose an appropriate moment to express myself.”
Sources are saying the athlete was tested twice and both reports came back positive. If convicted, Gasquet faces a two year ban from the sport.
We want to know how exactly he will prove his innocence. Perhaps he should sit down with Manny Ramirez‘s people. They came up with a great story for him.
