On August 5, 2003, a new generation of teen angst was defined in the seminal Fox drama The O.C.!
Not only did this teen soap opera make every adolescent want to flee their homes and escape to the sandy dunes of Southern California, but it’s cultural impact still lives on. (Only now, in a lesser form we know as reality TV.)
Though the hit series certainly launched the success of its stars, not every cast member has been able to maintain their fame since the show went off the air in 2007.
Mischa Barton was arguably the “it” girl of the mid-2000s after playing the troubled girl-next-door Marissa Cooper, but never saw the same success as she did after her early exit from the series.
