Anna Judd has been through 17 states and traveled over 3,200 miles in the past 5 months.
That would be a pretty cool road trip if she was driving in a car. But Anna did this ALL on foot!
She’s been running a marathon everyday since starting in Venice, CA, in the spring. Each day, she ran 26 miles until last Saturday when she arrived in New York and finally stopped running!
How incredible is that??
So why was Anna running across America?
Her goal was to raise awareness about American war veterans and the alarming statistics about how many of them end their lives in suicide.
The cause wasn’t one that Anna ever expected to be a part of. She admits she didn’t even know a veteran before she began this journey. She had an overwhelming desire to do something that would change the world. And friends suggested she look into this issue.
Anna explains:
“I felt passionate about every cause. I wanted to raise awareness for compassion, community, and activism, but that was too broad.├óΓé¼┬¥
After learning more and meeting former troops, Anna was convinced this was what she had to run for.
She went on to say:
“We may not all agree with war, but at the end of the day, we all consent to it by living here. And it├óΓé¼Γäós important that we take care of our veterans.├óΓé¼┬¥
Running has also helped Anna overcome her own anxiety and depression. And now her hobby is helping others!
She raised several thousands of dollars along her trek, and boy oh boy did she receive some attention!
Because when you run a marathon a day, it deserves people’s attentions! As do our brave veterans.
Well done, Anna!
Now put your feet up and rest for awhile, would ya!
