Watch Tori Spelling Get Grilled About 'Financial Troubles' In SUPER Awkward Interview!

Tori Spelling Money Problems 90210 Awkward Interview

What do Tori Spelling and Donald Trump have in common? Well, besides the fact neither one is qualified to be president, we mean…

Both HATE it when anyone brings up their financial problems.

Of course, so far as we know Tori has never been bailed out with cash injections from Russian oligarchs… LOLz!

For real though, the Beverly Hills 90210 star was rumored to be annoyed with the original script for the revival show, which features the original cast as fictionalized versions of themselves.

After a bunch of writers quit the show before the first episode aired, word on Hollywood Blvd was Tori pushed them out because she hated the idea of poking fun at her real life money troubles!

A source told Radar Online at the time:

“Tori didn’t want to portray her real life, which is being broke and on the D-list. She wanted to live in a big mansion in Beverly Hills and show the life she envisioned her character would be leading — a life much more glamorous and wealthy than her real life.”

The source said those writers were replaced with ones who would take direction from Tori and the rest of the cast — who were also serving as executive producers.

So when Tori and costar Jennie Garth stopped by Good Day New York on Fox 5 NY Tuesday morning, there was only one subject that was obviously off limits.

But host Rosanna Scotto apparently didn’t get the memo. Just two minutes into the early morning interview she asked:

“The media has been all over your financial troubles. Are you experiencing financial troubles?”

There is no way she wasn’t specifically told NOT to ask that.

But instead of backing off, she actually dug deeper, asking:

“Are you able to…”

It’s at this point Tori interjected with a level of sarcasm only a ’90s teen could muster:

“That’s appropriate.”

Before Rosanna finished:

“…pay your bills?”

Then Tori realized she was actually expected to answer the question and said:

“Am I able to pay my bills? Yeah, thank you. I am.”

Only when she said, “yeah, thank you,” it was with so much acid, it could have melted the entire Peach Pit.

Anyone else would have been able to read the room and move on. But, oh Rosanna… She actually KEPT ON IT, asking:

“This show will obviously give you some money in your pocket, right?”

Tori tried to quip her way out of it, saying to Jennie:

“Let’s use this on the show. We’re gonna write this into the show, so thank you.”

Ha! She gave her the Fall Out Boy!

Thankfully cohost Lori Stokes had the sense to change the subject at that point. After all, they had five more minutes of interview to go!

Speaking of which, before they wrapped, Rosanna apparently realized her mistake and apologized at the end of the interview, saying:

“We do wish you the best. I’m sorry if I offended you about asking about your finances.”

To which Tori replied:

“I have pretty thick skin.”

And then Rosanna KEPT DIGGING!

“It’s just, it’s everywhere, you know?”

She even said she was just trying to give Tori the opportunity to “clear the air.” Priceless.

And Tori just smiled and shrugged. Total pro.

See the super awkwardness in its entirety — with the money talk beginning about two minutes in (below)!
