Chris Mosier Just Made History As The First Transgender Athlete To Make Their Identified Gender's USA National Team!

Chris Mosier just made history!
That’s because after landing a spot on the USA National Duathlon Team on Saturday, Chris became the first transgender athlete to make it onto the team of the gender they identify; as opposed to the gender assigned when they were born.
The 35-year-old finished 37th out of 117 competitors, but only needed to be one of the top eight times for men aged 35-38 to make the team… and he did!
By the way, for those of you who are a little confused as to what a Duathalon is, it’s a sporting event similar to a triathlon only it consists of running, cycling, and then another leg of running.

We think it’s a little ridiculous that this is only the first time something like this has ever happened, but we’re glad Chris has now opened the door for his fellow trans athletes.
Chris and the rest of the USA Team will next compete at the 2016 World Championship Duathalon in Spain, so that just means he’s got a little more time to train even harder.
Congrats again, Chris!
Now go win us the gold!
