We can’t imagine how this WOULDN’T change your perspective on pretty much everything in life.
It’s been three years since Blink182 drummer Travis Barker nearly lost his life in a devastating plane crash, and the musician has recently opened up about the effect that the accident had on him. Although he still refuses to fly, Barker has managed to make some serious improvements to his lifestyle, which included recovering from an addiction to painkillers that he had before the crash, as well as a change in his diet and exercise regiment!
He explains:

“I’ve been vegan since I got out of the hospital ├óΓé¼┬ª It’s another eye opener. It changed my life in a number of ways. I mean, I run every day now. I never ran before. In the hospital, I promised myself that I ever walked again, that I would eat well and swim every day. Before the plane crash, I was battling a painkiller addiction. For years. I can proudly say I didn’t even take any pain medication after I got out of the hospital. They told me I’d be on some of the medicine for the rest of my life, but I got off all of them. They made me a completely different person. I looked Death right in the face. Unfortunately I can’t do as much touring as I would like because I don’t fly. It’s an obstacle. I’m working on it though. I’m trying to get hypnotized, trying to talk to a doctor who retrains your brain. Maybe he’ll help me fly again one day.”

Hey – one step at a time!
Frankly, you should be focused on everything that you HAVE accomplished and overcome – which is quite a bit!
What matters is that you took from a really horrific, traumatizing incident and in light of that, made extremely positive and healthy changes to your lifestyle that you might not have without it!
Be proud of yourself! And cross that last hurtle when you’re ready!
