Bagels Being Sliced Like Bread Has Twitter Repulsed -- See The Reactions!

Twitter reacts to bagels sliced like bread

There’s no wrong way to eat a bagel… but there IS a wrong way to slice one, according to Twitter.
Most people who have eaten a bagel in their lifetime have enjoyed it the classic way: sliced horizontally, possibly toasted, and smeared with a combination of butter, cream cheese, or jam. (Or jelly, if jam isn’t your jam.) Breakfast sandwiches are an entirely different conversation that we’ll save for another day.
The short of it is: foodies would never judge someone for what they put on their bagel… as long as it’s cut the old fashioned way.

Those who dare to experiment with different slicing methods, however, are subjected to the worst kind of hate social media has to offer. That’s why the following tweet showing bagels that were sliced vertically (like bread!!!) was burned by many:

Well, that’s… different!
Social media users were boggled — and, quite frankly, disturbed — after Alek Krautmann shared a photo of the “St. Louis secret.”
While Krautmann claimed the bagel strips were a “hit” with his office, most people on Twitter thought it looked like a bagel hate crime:

People were so heated, many started to slander the good city of St. Louis:

Adding insult to slicery was the fact that this unholy practice apparently came from the knives and ovens of Panera Bread, a trusted bread establishment that critics felt they could rely on to uphold the sanctity of bagel-carving.
After getting dragged through the grain, the company took to the social platform to address the controversy, tweeting:

Way to stay neutral, Panera!
The company later told multiple outlets that while it wasn’t sure how popular this vertical slicing practice was, any location would happily slice a box of bagels any way the customer wanted and wouldn’t judge them over it.
Like it or not, there were more than a few progressive minded people willing to admit they would experiment with these bagel strips — just to see what it’s like:

We get it… new things can be scary. But it’s 2019, y’all. It’s time society stops judging others for their bagel slicing preferences.
Bagel purists can deny it all they want, but deep down, we know they secretly want to pop one of those bagel strips in their mouths just to see if they like it.
Go ahead, try it! We won’t tell anyone. 😉
